A heartfelt Mahalo to everyone who joined us a few weeks ago at our Southern California Roadshow!
The event was a tremendous success, thanks to our dedicated participants who made time on an unusually rainy Friday afternoon and to our esteemed panelists who shared their insights and energy.
King’s Hawaiian provided the perfect blend of local flavors and aloha spirit that poured into the Hawaiian inspired lunch buffet and even elevated the atmosphere with fresh flowers to greet the guests. Paul Shimomoto and Eddie Quan opened the event to welcome all the guests and set the agenda for the day. They handed it over to Andrew Kurata (Hawaii Deputy Insurance Commissioner & Captive Insurance Administrator) who offered a unique and candid perspective from the regulator’s seat, along with some highly encouraging statistics about the domicile. Julie Berryman (King’s Hawaiian), Janet Sheiner (AMN Health), and Martin King (Kaiser Permanente) each shared their captive’s journeys, detailing why Hawaii became their chosen second home for business. Meanwhile, Ed Haik kept the discussion lively and engaging throughout, serving as our panel moderator.
The experience didn’t end there—the group braved the damp weather for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the King’s Hawaiian factory, witnessing firsthand the magic behind this iconic global brand. Attendees even left with a signature takeaway: a bright orange hairnet and fresh, buttery rolls straight off the press! The day concluded with great company, delicious food, and refreshing beverages at a nearby Mexican restaurant—because what better way to wrap up than with tacos!
That’s a wrap for now, but there’s more to come- Our next roadshow takes us to the Bay Area, hosted by a leading tech giant and a valued Hawaii client. Mark your calendars for June 12
